An evening of live acts that wear their pop sensibility loudly, born from the womb of the Amsterdam experimental scene. The label’s curation for this night hopes to present the idea of pop not as an attitude or a product, but as a sonic fingerprint inherited from the heyday of the global superstar of the late 90s and early 2000s. Three live acts explore radically different angles of this conception: Nadia constructs cyclical essays from the fragments of barely-recognisable genre tropes; Ping-En Hung builds her music by freezing the sound signatures of glossy pop production in time, creating dream-like atmospheres that reveal the microscopic grain of what to the naked eye looks like perfectly polished musical surfaces.

For this occasion, Melqui frontman Lautaro Hochmann, and SpaLtd – the electronic duo formed by label founders Cartopol and Where Birds Go To Die – will perform songs from the first Melqui EP in a brand new light as ‘Musique Populaire Concrète’. And to end the night, we'll have 'When Do You Sprout?' wondering masterminds and pop connoisseurs Chalice is a Witch and k cidder on the decks.
